Tools for a defined repayment plan
Loans Calculator provides browser-based calculations for fixed-rate loans with regular monthly payments. Use the homepage for a payment and full amortization schedule, the personal loan page for withheld fees, or the comparison page for separate offers. The payoff tool starts with remaining principal. The consolidation tool compares entered current debt payments with a new fixed-payment loan.
How results are computed
The scheduled installment uses the regular-payment form of the actuarial relationship in CFPB Appendix J. A schedule calculates monthly interest on the opening balance, applies the payment, and carries the remaining balance to the next month. Extra amounts reduce principal after that month's interest. Calculations retain full precision internally and show currency rounded to cents.
The APR tool solves the present-value relationship between equal payments and net proceeds after an upfront finance fee. It assumes the first payment is one full month after funding. Results are modeled calculations, not lender quotes, account statements, or compliance determinations.
Official sources and reference data
Definitions and calculation instructions come from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Starting inputs use its installment-loan sample, with regular periods and no sample-specific extra charges. The reference data file identifies the Federal Reserve G.19 series, its observation date, and the date the data was checked. The reference is not a rate offered to you.

Using a result
Replace the initial values with your actual loan terms. Read the model assumptions on each tool page and check the lender's payment instructions for features that the model does not include. Inputs stay in the browser; this site does not submit them to a lender.
